This is a deliberate swipe of Stephen's processing technique which he explains in the Lightroom Forum. Some photographs which I had not got round to looking at came to mind, this one amongst them. It seemed like a suitable candidate and so I started playing. I used different values but in the end I liked the effect that it gave to the tree branches against the sky. Comments anyone?
I like it very much! Perhaps by getting down lower might have provided more foreground interest, but I guess thats not always possible without some type of wide angle lens in these kind of shots! The wide angle (or super zoom, don't know which) lenses lend themselves to giving the viewer a feeling of being amongst the trees somehow! Almost as if you could walk in, which is enhanced by more foreground detail I suppose!
I did take some from a lower viewpoint Jocelyn, but the trees weren't in quite the right place for what I wanted to do with them. It was the sun on the bark that was really attracting me that day.
Just a pity there wasn't any heat in the watery sun that day, yes it was damned cold Pol. I feel that we didn't have a bad winter, but this cold spring is lasting forever.
Glad you like the trees Pops, it's a favourite little birch wood quite close to my home.
