I like this set of photographs Peder, particularly the first three - the third being my favouite. Lovely collection.

They DO speak but not everyone hears what they say. They hear all sorts of thing from all sorts of people during their very long life but they only share secrets with people who stay very still, wait quietly and 'tune in' them, people who listen to them and converse with them. The trees we know best are the ones that communicate most closely with us.

I love that second picture. It's a splendid example of time and continuity ... ie very old beside new growth. The old tree has 1000s of secrets stored behind that old trunk too - thoughts that passers shared with it. All that fresh growth surrounds the old tree to listen to its wisdom and keep it looking beautiful so that we remain attracted to it - keeping it alive and an integral part of our lives. That old tree knows 1000s of animals and birds too of course - but that's another story.

I'm not crackers, honestly. My very best friend is a certain Sycamore tree - but we don't share our secrets with anyone else ...... not even 'Gert'.

A lovely set of photographs. My favourite is the 4th or last pic, for its colours & textures! Not only do trees speak to the soul but they make incredible subjects for artists (and photographers alike!) Their limbs conjure so many forms & figures, that create endless hours of enjoyment....therefore not only do they speak to the soul, but feed it too!

            Thanks Pol.

Lovely 'natural' set. Numbers 3 and 4; is that an exposed heart I wonder, and the watery background complete with reedy grasses has given them a soft appearance. You have a great eye for bringing the details to the viewers attention. I think most are moved by trees, just not all admit it.

The fresh green growth in #2 (is that Elder?) and the hawthorn decorate and compliment that gnarled old trunk. My favourite of this group keeps changing.

Number 3 and 4 are the same tree. # 2 are from 2007.
