Trees are one of my favourite subjects. I like the twisted trunk and what appear to be exposed roots at near grass level (would have liked a closer look). The almost solitary tree, echoed by the smaller tree in the middle ground, stands well, the lean makes it look quite desolate - more like a moorland scene up here (north) than in Cornwall. The clipped right hand side I find a little off-putting and am not sure about the boulder at the base, it is an obstacle between me and the tree and I'm not sure that it adds anything. The bluey grey distant horizon merging into the sky gives a good sense of depth.
