Re: More Balloons
I like this image, but can't help thinking it was posted in hast. With a little more work it has become quite a pleasing picture. Noise is not a problem these days as there are many free programmes that will reduce noise to an acceptable level. I have also cloned out the roof of that building. Here is how I think it should have been posted.Originally posted by Jocelyn Walker View PostI thought by darkening the pic, it would give it more punch, however I am aware of some noise! What are your thoughts, ideas or critique!

Re: More Balloons
The mood of this picture is quite extraordinary, I love it. I would as Limix suggests clone out the building, but leave the noise. In fact I would sharpen just a little, this will give a gritty look. It will emphasize even more the mood of the image.Originally posted by Jocelyn Walker View Post
Shades of the old 3M Scotch 1600 transparency film much loved by many photographers.
Great stuff

Re: More Balloons
Thanks so much for your comments each one of you! I agree with you Ron that cloning the building out would improve the photo! Adding a simple border just adds that tad of completion! I have been playing about with B&W settings in Paintshop 9 this week & got really excited with the effects it can bring about to some of my pics! I wondered if it was just me or if the critique would show that I was actually doing something half right! It definitely has affirmed that & thank you! Now I can go back to the drawing board, so to speak!

Re: More Balloons
Jocelyn I tried a B&W version of your image and it looks great. Add a bit of film grain to a B&W conversion and see what you think. Patrick suggested sharpening the colour version so that's also worth a try. I'm not a great lover of grain in colour images but that's just my own personal taste.Originally posted by Jocelyn Walker View PostThanks so much for your comments each one of you!
