Re: Aces High.
Nice shot of Patrouille de France. Shot them on many airshows. Where did you take this one? And with what lens, how much mm, ISO, and so on
Missing the EXIF data in your gallery that comes with this photo.
I would like to rate it but without more info on the photo i can't.

Surely you rate a photograph by it's visual qualities rather than the technical data?Originally posted by buddha01 View PostNice shot of Patrouille de France. Shot them on many airshows. Where did you take this one? And with what lens, how much mm, ISO, and so on

Greetz,
Great shot, Alvar, regardless of what equipment and settings were used. EXIF is always useful for others who wish to learn, though, so it's worth tryig to keep it intact.

Re: Aces High.
@ John:
Reason for asking Exif data is that I have soon this kind of ground to air shots of demo teams to many times with the same composition and often the same default settings. I mean with that, High ISO -> low aperture setting (F4.0, F5.6) high shutter speeds -> pattern metering mode = in general bad to average photos of airplanes.
Not that the photo in question is a bad photo. It looks nice. But there is a lot of room for improvement in my opinion. Aviation photography is my main field of photography for 25 yrs now.
@Alvar:
I just checked your EXIF data using Opanda Exif data checker and noticed the low aperture setting (F5.6) and a very high shutter speed of 1/1600 sec. No mention of ISO and a pattern metering mode. I suspect a ISO setting of ISO of 800 or so based on the noise in the photo (grain shown in the blue air).
A better setting would be:
ISO 100, Aperture setting F8.0, Shutter speed 1/500 to 1/800 sec and center weighted or spot metering mode.
