Thanks Jon - the bluey shadows in the hills irritates me but I'm not sure what, if anything, can be done there. But I am pleased with the against the light thorns

could be atmospheric conditions causing them. in virginia we have a range of the appalachian called the 'blue ridge mountains'. from a distance they give off a very bluish tone...hence the name. i thought nothing of it in your image since being used to it.

Love it Ian, my sort of pic, think ya being too picky bout the shadows, if thats what it was like when ya took the shot thats gud enuf for me! I think easily rectified though.

I too like this picture Ian, it reminds me very much of some shots I took in Joshua Tree National Park, which I guess is very similar terrain. Though when I was there it was well over 100F
The light on the cacti though is great and contrasts well with the blue of the sky
