I'm curious about this one? Doesn't look like it was taken in Iran.

Is this taken in Iran? Out of curiosity, I see on your profile you are in the US. Are you there permanently or a student there temporarily?

Looks quite Parisienne! Was this a candid shot of a passerby or a jaunty portrait of a friend?

        Your assumption is totally WRONG.
I did not take it in Iran.
        I DO live in USA.
How about you? Where do you live?

          She was a total stranger.
If she was my friend, then I could get loads of images of her and fill the pages of my photography portfolio FOR SURE.

thought ian asked a question myself.
and, i guess ian's assumption about it not being taken in iran WAS correct

shame the image suffers from a lot of jpeg artefacts. nice shot though!

Can't help but feel that the scarf should be more in focus than it is.

Whoa!? Did I say something wrong? My location is on all my posts - look top-right. I made no assumption - which is why I asked the question.

I used to know an Iranian family very well here in England. Unfortunately the father died and they moved away. I can remember some wonderful food he cooked - especially chicken in rice with saffron

                  Zereshk Polow
                  Ingredients: (4 servings)

Basmati or long-grain rice, 500 grams
                  Chicken, 800 grams
                  Cooking oil
                  Butter
                  Barberries (dried), four spoons
                  Sugar, one spoon
                  Onions, two large
                  Saffron, 1/2 teaspoon
                  Salt
                  Black pepper

                  Directions:
Remove the skin from chicken pieces. Marinate chicken in grated onions, salt and pepper for 4-5 hours.
Cook rice using the recipe given for polow or kateh.
Wash barberries twice with cold water and drain the water. Add sugar and fry in butter over medium heat for about five minutes.
Pour saffron in a small bowl. Pour in 2-3 spoons of hot water and mix. Fill the bowl with rice and mix well. Add saffron-rice and barberries to the rest of the rice and mix well.
Cook chicken under grill for 15-20 minutes turning each piece a few times during cooking. Serve with barberry-rice.
