Leaf Love

Seen as the weather is still a bit pants, Ive done a bit more macro work tonight. This is actually a leaf that my son insisted on bringing back with him from sherwood forest among other things and has abandoned and totally forgotten about to my advantage. He will probably ask me where it is in 6 months time after Ive thrown it in the bin and myself totally forgotten about it, and Ill go 'what? 'your after what leaf' Im amazed they remember stuff at such a young age, I cant remember what I did yesterday
Anyway, shot this with my 150mm macro lens for 10sec @ f22, i dont think its perfect, but Im warming to it.

Leaves are always best photographed against the light. Here the light has illuminated the veins and colour of the leaf and the highlight round the edge is a nice touch IMO

Great texture and warm tone. Side lighting on the left edge is a bit harsh. Sharpness too soft?

The balance of leaf and black background is spot on. The overall leaf shape with the rounded undulations is the best!

thanks for your feedback, I agree this version ive posted does look alittle soft, maybe from the resizing, at 100% its as sharp as a razor. It was actually quiete difficult to make 1 leaf look interesting and I find the harsh edge gives the leaf a starting point and then it gradually blends into the black on the other side, which I like.
