  • hdr mono

This was taken on Downhill beach on the north coast of Northern Ireland. It is a view up towards Mussenden Temple which stands on the cliff top. I had processed it normally with ps but was unhappy with it due to not being able to get the right balance (sky too bright and cliffs/rock too dark) So it went on the reject pile. A couple of weeks later with the weather being crap out, I revisited some shots and tried them with hdr instead. Although not perfect, I was far more pleased with the hdr result than I was with the ps version.

    excellent perspective and exposure.
your choice of b&w was right on.

A terrific shot! I think the atmosphere is great & probably best enhanced by B&W, but more so by HDR! Nonetheless, would love to see the colour version as well!

Hi Richard, I really like this shot, firstly because I like b&w and second I also like to enhance contrast to extreme in some of my shots, not to everyone taste but this pic is very good, Ive not tried the hdr thing yet but I will be doing after seeing this.
It does look good this size but what does it look like large scale? Is it worthy of an A3 print say?
        cheers

Really excellent perspective making for a great composition but for me it is a bit overcooked and dare I say it, over dramatic.
