  • Toys Overload!

    Hi All,

I would really appreciate critique on the following picture.

I wanted to create an image that showed Elise surrounded by colour and toys, but I wanted the focus on her.

What do you think, what would you change, do you think its too overpowering, and do you think there is too much space to the left of the picture upsetting the balance?

(please feel free to re-interperet the picture if you like)

Critical focus and the soft skin tones make her stand out well enough Ben. Definitely a shot for the family album

As Stephen says definitely one for the family album.

She really is a beautiful baby and looks as though she was spoiled this Christmas.

The eyes and skin tones and focus look spot on. I do feel that the her little out of focus hand and the out of focus toy that covers part of her head are a little bit of a pain. But again what's visible of her face is delightful and you did indeed capture the colour of the baby environment so well.

          Cheers guys and gals!

Yes, she was indeed spoilt this Christmas. She now has more clothes than her mum I reckon, and thats saying something!

Careful sunshine...... if the missis sees that, you'll rightly be in big trouble (and probably reaching for the magic plastic)!

Seriously, it's a lovely picture of a beautiful baby (get your ahs out). The out of focus hand doesn't bother me, although I am bit distracted by that toy! Make the very most of it Ben, my 'babies' are now 24 and 26 and the closest I've seen yet to a baby is a house rabbit!! Mind you, they can also go out and buy you 10" digital photo frames for your Christmas/birthday

Eyup coupe, If it was a case of grab the camera lets get a shot, then its great, but if it was planned then it all looks a bit confusing, I think theres too many things in and out of focus. Lovely colour and use of light & exposure.
Hey mate just my view, still one for the album, but you wanted comments yeah?
              cheers

                Hi Ben,

I agree that it is a lovely photo. Unfortunately I also have to agree that the toy covering Elise's face is a bit annoying as is the in-focus one above her head.

I do love the expression on her face though. We had an eight-month ago visit us, with her family, over Christmas and the way they look around and absorb everything at that age is delightful.
