  • Science Museum

When using film I'm a bit of a one trick pony. Plenty of landscapes following a tried and tested formula, but little else. My digital camera has liberated me, through instant viewing of results and ability to delete photos that haven't worked and try again, to be more adventurous and, hopefully, more creative. Here are three attempts at abstract compositions that I made recently on a visit to the Science Museum in London. Any comments, suggestions or critisism will be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi John, over the years I have really come to appreciate abstract imagery and I shoot a fair bit myself. I do think it's a very personal genre and I'm not sure if many others would be able to appreciate some of my abstract stuff like I do

I like the first of your trio

I enjoy abstract photography! I like your 2nd shot, possibly because of the colours initially! However, if I could make a suggestion, I would clone out the Toilet direction signs in the Top LH corner!

Thanks for the suggestion, Jocelyn, it's a good point and obvious now I look at it again. I'll give it a go.

Thanks for making the time to comment, I would have replied earlier if my internet connection hadn't been down for four days!

          Hi John,
I like the first and last ones best, all are good though. In this istance I feel that color has helped the images but I do feel tha a good conversion to mono would help the abstract feel, I agree that the toilet signs should be clonned out.
          Have a happy new year.

            Re: Science Museum

The second and the third are my preference for the nice colors and compositions. The third one looks to me the most abstract as it takes a little time to figure it out.
The science museum - is it the museum where the first steam locomotive (Rocket) is exhibited?
