  • Through the Round Window

This was taken on a recent trip to Berlin. I found the Reichstag and the surrounding parliamentry buildings where great photographic subjects. This one is part of the parliament buildings on the banks of the river Spree. I liked the variety of shapes and angles in this one and I think the person gives a sense of scale. This has been processed in hdr too and was taken with the Sigma 10-20mm at 10mm.

    Glad for any feedback

    Cheers

    Richard

Hi Richard, I really like this - the man leaning forward gives a nice sense of scale. The uncorrected leaning verticals also work beautifully here. This could have been a rather boring architectural study but for me you have made it come alive

Hi Richard - I'm not usually a huge HDR fan, but I really like this. The verticals give a sense of converging and agree that the chap makes you realise just how huge these are. Is that another person at the bottom of the circle?

Wish me luck - I'm off to Frankfurt for Christmas to stay with my son. I was there for 48 hours last year, but most of it was either spent driving or humping his furniture to 3rd floor flat . Couldn't take my time on the drive home either, did Frankfurt to Huntingdon hospital in 12 hours...

Thanks Ian and Caz. Yes caz, on the original I could see that it is one of the security guards inside the building wearing a red jacket. I think he was keeping an eye on me! Good luck in frankfurt for xmas. Hope you get some good shots!

I would love to have seen this photo in actual size, as not only are the angles & shapes amazing, but the texture of the walls & paving etc fascinating! Great shot.
