Re: Three Benches
Cracking shot. Very nicely processed too imho.Originally posted by richard crowe View PostThis was taken at the Rowallane, the National Trust HQ in Northern Ireland. This building is actually the tea rooms! I liked the three benches and also the dappled light that was coming through the trees onto the door.

Re: Three Benches
I like this a lot too, but it's very dark so it has a moon-lit night scene feel about it.
Did you ensure the colour space was correct after the mono conversion? I have found that PS chages the colour space when doing a mono conversion and this can cause the image to be displayed too dark via a web browser.

It looks good on my screen - both via the browser and also in CS3. Slightly darker via the browser but not much.Originally posted by Ian View PostI like this a lot too, but it's very dark so it has a moon-lit night scene feel about it.

The white window frames are greyish rather than a bright white, as are the clouds. I'm assuming the image has been tone-mapped, which could account for some of the greyish areas.

But it doesn't look like a normal daylight scene. I loaded the image into PS and the file has no colour space applied to it. Displayed in PS the image has some extra shadow detail, lifting it slightly, but it still looks like a bright full moon lit night scene to me
The histogram is way over to the left as well. I did try lightening it and this makes it look more 'normal' but it also loses the impact of the image.

Re: Three Benches
Thanks for the feedback guys. Yes this was processed using hdr - surprise surprise!
I did try it from the raw just in ps and it is much more natural and not so moonlight grey!
I'm affraid I'm not that technically knowledgable on ps and only know enough to get by. What do you mean by 'no colour space applied'?
Cheers
Richard
