this was taken on the Mall in DC. the flags are associated with the Washington Monumemt and of course you recognize the Lincoln Memorial in the background. this may have a slight cw tilt. i will attend to that.

Interesting photo JM. When I saw your title "Windy afternoon." I thought you had got it in the wrong forum. See here.

Stunning shot Jon, I particularly like the low angle you shot this at, adding an imposing sense to the shot. Great atmosphere!

Lovely shot. Very thought-provoking and empathetic processing.
I love the general atmosphere - the combination, in the foreground, of the apparently 'pensive' silhouettes of the people on the park pench and the other couple walking away into the now 'taken-for-granted' freedom. All very symbolic.
No shortage of mood and atmosphere Jon. Looks more peaceful than windy though. Maybe a few leaves scattering in the foreground was too much to ask for.
A nice b/w photograph indeed.
Tom
I think this shot shouts of wind all over it and the isolated lighting you capture in the flats, benches, lamps and the dust make for superb contrasting very suited to B&W - you would be mad not to enter it into the salon.

It certainly would be good to have another entry, as we have had so few this time and the competition does not close until 1800 GMT today.
I await your instructions.
Audrey
if it's not too late i'd like to have a go at it.
i'm sorry for not responding in a timely manner to your comments. a few months ago i was diagnosed with prostate cancer. i had surgery two weeks ago and still find it hard to get up and around. sitting at a computer is especially difficult at the moment
if it's too late, no problem. i will catch the next one.
