  • Now THIS is Hallowe'en

    Tonight we had three callers.

    These are the first:

    These are the second:

When I said I would like to take their photographs before they had their "Treats", they said just a minute we have a Baby Witch, all dressed up. They got Baby Witch out of the buggy. See mummy in the background.

So here they are, including Baby Witch

I then took a picture of someone holding Baby Witch, but since I have downloaded, I think it might be Daddy.

Later in the evening the older boys came. I said I would like to take their photographs and I would put it on the web. I went to get their "Treats" but as soon as I got back they asked for my web address.

I told them to google for this one. So I hope you found this boys.!

Thanks Pops, glad you like it.

We were issued with posters saying "Sorry, No Trick or Treat". People around us displayed them, but we were afraid we may get a brick through our window, so we prepared for it with chocolate bars and we had our best Hallowe'en ever.

I can understand people displaying posters, because elderly people, particularly on their own, might be very scared.

Great stuff! Well done Documentary photography!

We had a handful of trick or treaters this evening - one lot greeted us with a chorus of "Merry Christmas!"

Had 3 visits to our house and I'm now kicking myself for not having thought of your idea . They were all dressed up superbly as well.

It was just a last minute thought when the first ones called, my husband had been to the door and they were just leaving, so I called them back for the "Shoot", therefore, my camera was at the ready for further callers.

Funny thing is, I never looked at the settings until they all had gone. My camera was set on Aperature Priority F3.2, in RAW, so I was lucky. Also the Canon G3 is very poor with 'red eye,' but I didn't alter it, because I thought the red eyes through the masks, worked on this occasion.

              ha ha!
Great idea, some great make up there!
I think its a little miserable putting up posters, its only once a year!

Also, its a great excuse to buy far too many sweets, and have some left over for yerself!

              Lovely shots there Autumn!

Love the shots, the one with the whole family is great I like the fact that all the family are involved, in all the photo's everyone has put effort into it, which I think is great, beats never seeing your neighbours and not knowing anyone's name.

We got prepared and carved a pumpkin put in in the porch with a candle in, we only got one pair of small children ring the bell, some kids got within a few feet of the door screamed and ran off never to be seen again

My wife has taken loads of chocolate bars to work so her team will be happy.

                Cheers for sharing the photo's

Thing is Stu, I haven't a clue who they were. I have never seen any of them before.

There was a fourth who rang the bell, but when we went to the door, they were running away. ... ... We have just come in from walking in Clumber and noticed our neighbours coping stone has been knocked off the top of the wall and broken.

You may see them out and about you may not recognise (unless they really look like that) them but they may do you and stop and say hello.

Shame that is, as that is what everyone remembers the bad parts, the good times always get forgotten when things like that happen.
