The boys and girls in the band. Unfortunately one member of the band is half hidden at the rear but I failed to notice this at the time.

The town of Lijiang in Yunnan Province in China is the home of the Naxi Orchestra. The Naxi is an the ethnic minority tribe. I got a ticket in town and went to hear them and some experience it was.
Lijiang suffered an earthquake in the late ninties with the loss of 600 people and thousands injured.

I love the expressions on their faces, they are really living their music
. Even though they're from another world, they remind me uncannily of Western jazz musicians. Music is truly an international language. As is photography for demonstrating it. Just a lovely image all round that says so much to me.
The lighting I presume is stage lighting, but it's been captured beautifully. Well done.Comment

Thanks very much to all again. It is all about the colours to be sure.
Thankfully there was no complicated lighting or movement on stage to cope with. These old men just sat motionless on stage playing their ancient instruments and made my job easy.
