Had a very good session on the banks of the Thames last Sunday and this one is one of my favourites. I would like to hear how members here feel about it.
There is a big version of it in my gallery.
Thanks everyone.

You've certainly found yourself an interesting location!
The problem I have with this image is I'm not sure where to look - so my eyes are wandering all over. I'm enjoying browsing the content but I feel it's rather busy.
I'd agree with Pol and Pops on this Tom, though I can see why you like it. I like it for the blocks of colour and the shapes though, it is an interesting shot for that alone

Yes, I think you have all read my mind on this one. It's a great backdrop that needs some contrasting focal point.
Thanks everyone. Obviously it's not ticking the boxes for you folks and no problem there. I'm sort of in disagreement with you all on this one, which of course does not diminish the validity of your critique.
Just as a point of interest as to why I like it so much: This shot for me is about the late evening light and the effect it has had on the building. So I look at this as I would look at any broad landscape where the combination of different sections, be it river, tree or mountain, come together to form one whole focal point if you like. I honestly don't find it fussy (not knowing where to focus on ) but rather a combination of nice but different areas that hold my attention, just as in a natural landscape.
This is not a defence against your critiques, but since I said initially it was one of my favourites, please see it as just a few words outling how I read it.
What makes this lark all so interesting is the fact that other eyes may see things differently than you (me).
Thanks again.
PS How do I post a full image nowdays? For this one I did the manage attachments jobbie.
Well Jocelyn I am definitely not into these and have to say that to me they are mere illustrations of the dangers of Photoshop in relation to the altering of original photographic images. In the early days I experimented somewhat similarily on a couple of my own poor images but soon abandoned the entire concepts. But I realise there is a growing interest in this type of abstract manipulation but it is not for me.
I know you mean well Jocelyn but I would have been more interested, and would have benefited more from your honest critique of the photograph as presented.
Well, I like it. To me photographs fall into two discrete categories first off - those that focus on one point and immediately grab my attention - and those that pull me in bit by bit as I find more to peer into. I like all the contrasting shapes and the light catching on all the 'lumps and bumps'. I wouldn't ordinarily be interested in factory settings but the colours, shapes, textures all work for me in this one.
Well Tom, to be quite honest, factory buildings & warehouses don't inspire me at all, (I worked in factories for many years & most pollute the scenery & environment) but each to his own! In your photo, I can't seem to find any one thing to focus on to make it really stand out, sorry but that's my personal opinion!
Tom this is the kind of image that interest me. I think it has been captured well. Photographically the sharpness and exposure are spot on. Hard to say that the composition could not have been better as having not seen what was available that would be pure guess work. OK so it's not everyone's idea of an interesting subject, but for someone, like me, who's interested in industrial buildings, this has made me spend time viewing it. I've taken many such photos in the past and although I have not posted any of them, they will remain part of my collection.

I appreciate your opinion on the shot Jocelyn and your view is similar to most opinions expressed on the shot.
Of course you are 100% correct about factories and pollution, so we share a disinterest in them for those reasons. But we also don't need to like them to photograph them, which is a different matter entirely
Thanks also to Blithe and Lumix. What you see in the photograph is what I saw from the roadside.
