I have to say that on first looking at these photographs I did not like them, but after spending some time looking at the second one, I can see what you were trying to do, and can see that it has a quality that I like. More so if I look down at my screen to make it appear 'slightly' lighter. Darkening the image has not diminished the folds in the dress, nor the laurel branch, and the more I look the more I can see. Yes, very clever.

Like Blithe I was not very taken with the 'After' shot.
I was however intrigued by his comment re 'looking down' onto the pic so....
I stood up and couldn't believe the difference. It does make me wonder though as to how the effect at 'looking down' would be bought to everybodies attention. i.e. how would it be displayed.
Without having read the comment by Blithe I would have missed that entirely which would have been a shame.

I did not have to stand up to see the effect that the light on extended fingertip & face gave the picture an almost 3 D effect. Really great enhancement & creative work!

8.Omni ligt.(around face)

11.More kontrast.
