For quite a while Ive been passing a sign on an A road to this church, now being Cornwall its never direct. But today I snook of to have a look down the lanes. I wondered why this church was sign posted but it is set amongst 5 houses in the middle of nowhere.
comments welcome
Looking at this in preview dosent have quite the same impact as in Cs3
I like the toning! Mind you, a subject such as this could be complemented with a number of toning possibilities, each with their own visual effect! I love the little churches dotted about Cornwall & Devon! Their are some beauties around Exeter environs!
Hi Mike,
Yes I like this image, and the tone effect, Pity the sky is a little bland.
Looking at the image you get a sense of lack of use and slow deterioration, perhaps this is why the church is signposted, hopeing visitors would make small donations to help maintain the building. Also churches etc: Are some of our most photogenic and interesting subjects.
I like the composition, where the leafy path leads the eye to the door, the unevenness and leafyness also emphasises the lack of use and mood of isolation. On the monitor I am viewing at the moment it looks as if a few tweeks to boost the contrast and sharpness would help. I also like the way the curve of the tree trunk to the left gives the impression of an arch.
I like the image and the potential it offers.
Ps I think "The Railway Children" should have been shot in black and white.....maybe I have rose tinted glasses
I also feel the above would have been a more accurate portayal of the era. ( want to borrow my Rosey glasses)
