Rail Trail

Hi,

Have recently cycled the length of a converted old railway line with other members of our photo club. The line is now intended for cycles, horses and walkers. Anyway spotted this old rail sign on a farm road and thought it, and the surrounding land, clouds etc gave the atmosphere of the trip.

Really like this picture Trev, there is a feeling of a past era given by the sign and the track leads the eye towards that great dramatic sky. If I'm honest I think the frame is too heavy, but this is a personal thing

Hi Stephen,

Thanks for the comments. I have to admit that I wasnt too careful in the choice of the frame and just used the "same old". Have to agree with you on this

Yes I have to agree, a superb and atmospheric timeless image, spoilt by the frame. I love the way the road/trail leads you into the image and leaves you wanting to know where and to what it leads.

Love the composition and the tones but agree that the frame is to thick.
Maybe if it was clipped in with just enough width for the caption it would suit better

Great capture of bygone era! Great place to cycle or walk! I love your borders & would love to master something similar! Perhaps though on this particular photo, the black surround could have been smaller...thinner....if you get my point!
