I've played around with this a little - any of the forum regulars give me anymore pointers.
Cropped, healed, and warmed up so far.
many thanks

Hi Dave, a charming photo and one that show something of her character. Definitely one for the family album. Its well exposed with good skin tones so the warming up seems to have worked well.
If I might be more critical though from the portrait standpoint, her hand looks as though its pushing her head up, I'd have preferred her chin to be much further down so you are not looking up the nose so much. For me her face isn't really in sharp focus, the fabric of the settee looks a little sharper. Also I might have been more wary of the background in the top left. The conservatory window and reflections are a distraction. However as a family photo it works pretty well
I was going to mention about the reflections also, but the crop has sorted it nicely.
The slightly out of focus has a nice softening effect to the skin.
Although the pose is a little awkward, its still al lovely picture, and one which I would certainly put on the mantle if she were a relative.
A super family photograph, Improved no end by Rons crop, The softness does not detract from the image, it is a technique used often in portraiture. Very nice.
