  • Richmond Pano

Inspired by Stephens recent Pano, I thought I would have a go. Here is the result.

I was going to put this in the 'Autumn Assigments' but would like critique on it if possible to give critique on such a shot where the sixe has been dramatically reduced.

It was difficult to get the 70meg image down to 250kb, so sadly a lot of the detail has been lost.

I also dont like the featurless sky. Other than that, full size it looks really nice, and was happy with the joins, this is around 12 shots.

    Hi Coupkid,
get in first with the Self critique is it
it is a possible great pano, and as a task it is a nice stitching job, but as you say the sky is non existant, I also feel that the contrast and saturation could be improved, On my monitor it looks that way, as you say a great deal may have been lost in the down-sizeing process so not easy to critique. The scene sure has got some great potential. As an exersise in producing a pano it seems to have been a success.

The stitching is excellent but I'm afraid the photograph itself doesn't do anything for me. I can't find an area of focus/interest and it looks a bit flat for an Autumn shot.
Maybe your larger version showing more detail would have had more of an impact. I have noticed before that panorama's don't give off their best in forums.

Ben - I think you said it all

I think possibly your pano is too wide and thin. Stitching can also be sued for making a super wide angle view up and down as well as side ways.

John Houghton is the best exponent of this I have seen on here
