A lovely subject with plenty of detail, color and interest, However you seem to have more of the petal and pattern, including the base of the stems in focus and the finger like projectiles
(Stamens) are out of focus. Macro is notoriously difficult hand held, I know I do it when out with the family, and get more iffy images than good ones. macro really does require a tripod, but you could also try useing a monopod. You really do need to make sure the camera focus area is focused on the area you require to be sharpest, that the flower and camera is still, (wait for the breeze "however slight" to drop, hold your breath, keep your arms tucked into your sides, plant your feet so you are securely ballanced, take your shot when you feel right. If your camera has a macro setting program use this as well as other settings You do have some very nice images of flowers in your Gallerie, you certainly love flowers, and the white one called lilly-jos looks to be a super example of what you describe you tried to do in this post.
Good Luck.Catch Ya Later

Re: Pink Lily
Hi Tinka, thanks for your comment. Yes I agree macro shots, particularly of flowers should be taken with a tripod or monopod! Macro shots are difficult to master!
I do however wish to point out that the fingerlike projectiles I mentioned, which I focused on, were at at the base of the petals! I've never noticed them on lilies before & they interested me! They are not part of the stamens or stigma! I think they are there to promote pollen collection! I intentionally didn't focus on the anthers etc! I do appreciate your comments & advice though!

Re: Pink Lily
I can see the section you wanted to focus attention on but the position of that section makes it awkward to focus the eyes on. As soon as I opened up the image my eyes got drawn to the unfocused stamens and I was forced to look down to find your projectiles.-------------------------

Hi Jocelyn,
Yup, I see what your intention was now that you mention it, but you had to mention it, I have not noticed these on my lillies before either, it makes for an interesting idea but detracts from the visual pleasure of the image for the general viewer, nice experiment though.Catch Ya Later
