  • Door and Window

Both are parts of the same old building

    Re: Door and Window

I like these two, especially the door. The chink of light gives just the hint of something worth looking into - OK, just me being nosey. The lichens on the stone and the weathered patches around the hinges provide so much detail. Perhaps it is my screen but I would have expected the green grass/mosses to be slightly lighter.
The window shot is much lighter and there are so many colours in the stones. I would be itching to look through that window. Are they on two different sides of the wall? In both they are anything but flat though.

I like them both - but particularly the first one. The different textures and colours of the various 'hard' building materials contrast well with the softer foliage

They are about 6ft apart on the same side, the door was in the shade. The building now forms part of a wall round a garden.

I like the 1st pic very much for its texture & colours. The window itself is amazing, especially the lintel....looks exceptionally old! Its a pity there's a redbrick tier as it seems incongruous somehow! [Must be a lot newer]

I love the window shot. (shame about the house bricks though) The stones look like they are floating and there are so many different textures and colours to see.

              Hi,
Two terrific images, the first is my favorit, the patterns formed by the materials and the textures and colors make for an eyecatching image, and the glimpse of the world beyond the window and wall is intrigueing, hints of a "Secret Garden" I think you will find the bricks are also very old and they do not spoil the image, for me anyway.

                Thanks all,
I think the red bricks used to support floor joists but its hard to tell as the surrounding area has changed so much, I personally like them they add a stark contrast to the rest of the image.
once again thanks for your feedback
