I like this sort of thing - kinda minimal but with curves, points and textures. Even better if you manage to get some interesting sky, as you did.

It's the sort of picci that would probably have me playing for ages if it were mine. It could lend itself to all sorts of 'variations' of contrasts and tones .... then end up one a wall as an A5 or even a poster.

Thanks Pol - for some reason the exif info isn't showing, but this was taken using a Kodak compact p&s.

I looked for the exif actually but hey .......

I'd deduced it had probably been shot with a compact and had a brief discussion with David about the picture, having both agreed it was likely to have been off a compact. The giveaway, in our opinion, was that the picci looked slightly 'flat' (meaning 2 dimensional) - though I suspect a bit of PS tweaking could make those textures, shadows and contrasts pop nicely.

I hasten to add I'm not knocking compacts! It's just that I'm 'scrutinising' the E series. He still wants one.

            Hi,
Well spotted and well photographed, superb capture of detail in the wall and sky, was this shot in the raw ? Were you able to capture the dynamic range in one, or was manipulation required? The image is superbly ballanced and composed. IMO

Hi Tinka, this was taken using a Kodak Easyshare V1253 pocket camera - no RAW

Some tinkering (no pun intended!) was required in Photoshop, but not a lot. The composition wasn't that difficult - it just appeared before me and said 'snap me!'

You lucky lucky fella, it all fell into place just right for you, just shows what can be taken on a pocket camera these days.
