Took this at a butterfly garden, using a cannon S2 IS. Any possible improvements would be greatfully recieved, about taking the photograph, or ways i could edit it to improve it more.
    Thanks

First welcome to DPnow. My views on the image:-With this type of close-up shot you need to have the focus set on the main part of the subject. You seem to have just missed that point as the very front of the butterfly is slightly out of focus. You may have been to close for your camera to cope or the DOF was to shallow. I think I would have perhaps included a little more of the butterfly to make the image more interesting. Having said that, it's a very good first attempt. Well done.

Hi and welcome to the forum,
The image is a good technical close up, but thats it, not very pretty or appealing to look at, but you certainly captured it well, butterflies are beautiful creatures, you really should try to capture them in all their glory. Nice try though.

The head is slightly out of focus but still a cracking closeup
