  • Experiment in backlighting

    Hi,

Experimenting with 'back-lighting' using very sophisticated equipment i.e. kitchen spotlight. Given that; comments please.

Oh and the jug and glass needed a bit more dusting

Well done for having a go. Now for a few things I would change. First the jug is leading out of the picture. Turn it round and it leads into the picture. Looks better that way. Focus is on the front surface which leave the jug looking to soft. Greater DOF would improve. Reflections are sharp use a polarizing filter or shade the jug with some muslin to breakup the reflections. Also jug looks to be a bit to low in the frame. Sorry but this just had to be pointed out so you can have another go.
Yes get the duster out, or retouch the image before posting.

I'd agree with Ron on this picture. The image has a certain, perhaps Mediterranean charm, and the colours go rather well together. As Ron says turn the vase round or move it to the right of frame. Perhaps give it a bit more room at the bottom and certainly the top. Reflections in glass are always a problem though
