  • View of Tintagel coastline

My Canon photo editing programme is refusing to play games at the moment (possibly couldn't cope with uploading the 285 pictures I took in the last 10 days! - quite a few have been deleted already; due to the harsh sunlight conditions I was bracketing a lot) so this has been edited in Picassa - taken just before sunset with very harsh sunlight coming in from the right of the photo, and I've had to lighten in somewhat but any improvements and suggestions would be gratefully received.

Hi There, Hope I don't affend you, However this Foto does'nt do it for me.
It looks a bit Washed out. And its not Drawing my Attention Back for a Second Look.

Other than that, about Technical info, I can't comment, as I am New in this game.

I think you may mean its lacking in contrast, which would agree with

personally, I think it is a very picturesque shots with bags of potential.

I hope you dont mind, but I have illustrated what changed I would make Caz.

Definaly boost the contrast, but I would treat the sky and ground differently, and similarly the sea I would leave as is.

Also sharpen the image very slightly, and in my example I have added a vignette, just to draw you into the image.

Hope you like the treatment, and dont mind me playing

Well done Ben, that's very similar to what I tried. Gave up on posting it as the image size posted was a bit small to get a really good result. Perhaps Caz could post the larger size from the gallery which would make editing a bit better.

Well I'm sure that we regular users can't. Something to do with security. If I'm wrong then how do I do it?

Ron, just checked and you definitely can. My method is to find the large version. Then using your mouse pointer, drag the image down to your editing program on the task bar. Hold it there till it pops up fullscreen then move the pointer onto its desktop and let go. Works every time, but don't let go of it on the taskbar program icon. Hope that makes sense

The security is very simple (disables click to copy) and to dissuade casual thieves only, but any determined thief can steal any image displayed in a web browser.

Of course I don't mind - that's why I asked for help... I'd fiddled about for ages, and knew I wasn't getting anywhere, just getting stuck with contrast going up and down...

Well I'm no thief then as it will not work for me. All I get is a panel stating image resource centre, click ok and nothing. I'll try again in the morning.
