I see you say you used Lightroom on this. You should therefore be able to control the highlights better. Its done a good job with the shadows, but at the expense of the highlights which are blown. If you had used spot metering its possible it would have come out something like this

Yip, this was my very First attempt in Lightroom Though, So i'm not to sure where what how.

I like the edited version significantly more. It restores some of the blown out areas and adds ground detail.
