  • Restored Gasoline Delevery Truck

    Hello All,

A local Man and his wife Restored an old gas station that they had relocated due to highway improvements and construction. They had an open house last Saturday. There were many people there. This truck was a rusted out shell when he started on It. I had to intentionally crop this photo tightly due to to the large amount of people milling around.Comments & critiques please! All are welcome! Thanks!

It looks like he has done an excellent job on the truck Jennifer, it reminds me very much of the toy cars and trucks I would play with as a kid.

You have done well to isolate the vehicle if as you say there were lots of people around. I feel however that the border is far too broad for the picture, it overpowers it IMHO. Also what have you done to the trees in the background?

Much better Jennifer, the border is now less dominating and you have cured the strange effect on the trees.

Now may I suggest you sort out in your software, is it Picasa? How to resize an image to maybe 800-900 pixels wide. Here you have used the large version in your gallery which is what you should do, but it really is too big as it makes us all scroll to see the full width

Finally, the grass in the bottom right looks odd, it didn't seem to be like that in your first version, what have you done?

Hi Jennifer, this is a super image, have to agree with the comments re the grass but a very minor detai in such a great image, and a super subject.

I think the subject matter is superb, but I think it would really make for a great image if the background wasn't so busy and there's a strange effect on the grass in the foreground which pulls you away from the subject.

Jennifer I have re-sized to fit. I haven't got a wall to wall monitor. Nice shot of a very nice truck.

                  Hello All!
Gosh I am so sorry! I just haven't had very good luck with this picture! The Grass effect was something I was experimenting with (unsuccessfully!) and did not delete It was just plain embarrassing when I saw what I had done. So today I thought Why not sit down for a quick Fix? Yes I did not make it small enough. Oh well on to the next project! I think I'll slow down just a little bit next time and double check my work before I post it!
