Was outside trying out a new Sigma 50mm f2.8 DG Macro lens.
When viewing the results I found this one. Completely unexpected and unusual. The raindrop picked up the reflection of the tree's behind me. Not the sharpest of shots, just posted it for it's novelty.

I really like this one. The drop is very sharp and that's enough to give the picture its focus and accentuate the rest of it which seems to want to convey a feeling of softness and gentleness - its almost like one of those beautiful Japanese images.

I can only echo SPLs comments, it is the sharpness of the raindrop against the softness and delecacy of the petals that make the image, this should be enlarged printed and mounted on a wall. "In my opinion" this image would be in demand by interioor designers.

I can only echo SPLs comments, it is the sharpness of the raindrop against the softness and delecacy of the petals that make the image, this should be enlarged printed and mounted on a wall. "In my opinion" this image would be in demand by interioor designers.

Nice shot Pops, it would be cool to see something in the drop as well, an inspired shot, there is so many different things you could do.

Looks brighter and softer ... and do I detect a filter being used

First use screen on 2nd layer (to lighten the whole image), then used watercolour and Gaussian blur (7.5) on the third layer, and rub out the water droplet on the 3rd layer, adjust the percentage for the best effect.
