I have been thinking for a while should I post this or not.
This was taken around 6am in the morning, after an all night drive.

Well I'm really glad you did Mike, cos I love it. Shows something of the drama of this part of the world. What a sky, and whilst I appreciate you may have helped it a little it contrasts well with the foreground moorland area. You can just imagine the great battle that occurred here between the Campbells and err was it the McDonalds Yes, lots of drama and atmosphere in the shot.

On the down side the slight halo round the edge of the hills bugs me a little

      Your spot on there Stephen,
I created 2 versions in PS to give the sky some depth and contrast, and one for the foreground to keep the colour the put them together. I havent quite got the proceess of pat yet hence the halo effect. I did not see it at first......but I did have another eye test yesterday
It was a wonderfull erie feeling at that time of the day, not a soul in sight and peaceful. I ceated a sepia version also

      thanks for the support

        Hi,
A very atmospheric image, dramatic and shows the beauty and drama of the landscape in that area.

          Hi Mike,

          Great picture

I hope you don't mind; I wondered what it would look like in Black & White.

I am not sure I don't prefer the sepia?

Hi Julia, I did try a mono version but thought it took too much away, I always like B/W but did not feel it lent itself this time. Yours looks better than mine though mine was vey flat

My wife Lisa reckons I have an inkling towards the Moodier image..........I think shes calling me a moody sod

I don't care for the sepia version at all but I am very pleased you posted the first one.
Full of atsmosphere and drama. Makes me want to be there.

What a beautiful image! Some will know that Glen Coe is one of my all time favourite places in the UK, i've taken a few shots of it myself.

I like this photo so much more than the second one you've posted in this forum, it seems so much more atmospheric and generally just better. Nice work.

                        Hi Mike,

Just the sort of scene I would love to take myself. I prefer the first edition. Mono doesnt make the richness of the scene. The only comment I would make is to dump the lettering from the photo as it distracts. It could always be put in the margin in a gray colour.

love it - great depiction of moodiness and atomosphere and great dof too. Prefer it in colour and I am sure the halo thing could be fixed (by people more skilled than myself) without altering the rest of the image too much.
