  • Refusing to Die

I had been trying to capture this tree for some time, in the winter it didnt stand out against all the other leafless trees, but today I got somewhere near the image I had in my head

    regards

    Re: Refusing to Die

Overcast days usually don't produce the most contrasty images. In this case it seems the camera has metered off the cloudy background, resulting in some really flat low contrast photos.
Spot metering in just the right areas might produce the best results, or a little more sunny day.
Anyway here is the tree with a little retouching.

      Hi Mike,

Was the original tree silhouetted, as it looks like you have tried to recover a very dark area here.

The tree and fields etc, are very flat.

you could always take two shots with your camera on a tripod, and merge the two...meter for the sky, then meter for the tree.

Re: Refusing to Die - One More Shot

Using the original from the camera image. I used a good but sometimes forgotten plugin, called "DC Enhance" this is the result.
