I put these in my gallery but guess I need them in here to get some feed back.

Here goes.


Oludeniz. Bit cloudy that day but I loved how the clouds rolled around the mountains.



Fethiye Bay. I wish I'd had a polarising filter! Maybe next time.

Lycian rock tombs near Dalyan. I like the marble effect running through the living rock.



Dragonfly. It just sat there while I took it's pic.

could I make a suggestion.
I found to try and look at all those different photos in one post and to form a critique was quite a task, I only popped in quickly this morning so unable to give each photo the time it deserves.

for a critique you are better putting one photo up at a time in a thread,

just my humble opinion but will pop in later for a better look

Hi Paul,

Some nice pictures there!

Welcome to the forum, you have stumbled accross a freindly, and helpful resource here!

As FP said, when posting in the critique section, its worth while posting one or two pictures, so as you can receive a more in depth critique. Also when posting, use the UBB code to prevent people from having to open and view you picture in a second browser.

However, have noticed that you pictures are quite large in dimensions. My advice would be to upload at between 600 and 700 on its largest edge (width in this case) resizing a picture is pretty easy, and if you need advice please feel free to ask.

Thanks Ben, alll I need now are some more pics. I'm trying to take one now of our pet snake "daisy" (royal python) but she's hiding at the moment. I've got the iso turned up to 1600, read that somewhere , so it's nice and bright without the flash.

I quite like this one Fethiye Bay, the way the bigger ship is starting to dwarf the other one, also the way you have a clear sharp detail on the boat.
the only point I would make is could you have taken it at a slightly different angle, to accentuate the difference in size.

Fethiye boatscould see what you were trying to take but it just looked like a tangled mass of masts,.but again very clear and sharp

this one I love, would like to see a bit more close up if you have any, there is great detail there.

Superb, well I look forward to seeing that!

As for the ISO, i would advise against turning it up that high, you will find that the picture will end up with a lot of 'noise' or grain over it.

My advice would be to obtain som auxillery lighting instead, or maybe when its a sunny day you could take the snake outside to take the picture if there is a couple of you to stop it from escaping?

Personally I always avoid going above 400.

I'm just experimenting really. She's only 4" long and likes to be handled. I'm after a "natural" shot. I can use the flash but you're right natural light would be better. She's a bit dosey in the daytime as well.

My unforgettable experiences is my classmates and I went to london, we enjoyed the beautiful secenary, lying on the beaches, eating tasty food along seaside and then we go shopping, buying anything we wish. (usually small things as souvenir), we lived in the malta hotel, well-equipped apparatus, comfortable and clean. I've kept those photos we took at that time.
