Shot this in Beijing last April on my trusted Epson RD1, can't miss to see so much contrast in this fast growing city. All comments welcome.

    Danny,

I am Jennifer From USA. Your picture tells such an interesting story. I love it! The only thing I would do different is some cropping. I found my eyes wandering from the focal point of the picture. I am not sure if it is my monitor or not but somehow the color seems somewhat off . Ill sure bet some of the more advanced ladies and gentlemen could help out!And welcome! you have found the nicest bunch of people gathered on the web!

      Hi Jennifer,

Thank you for your comment, the colour is deliberate, as I am going through a colour shift phase at present. BTW, have you ever calibrate your monitor? With good calibration, we are sharing similar colour information and standards.

Absolutely brilliant Danny, love it too!
Could do with a little more negative space on the right so the car is driving into it in my opinion.

        But superb!

Hehe, not much to choose in terms of styling looks between the pedal cart and the 7-series Beamer!

But seriously, this is a powerful image. I do like the purposeful stance of the peasant on his/her vehicle though. It says to me - "I'll have one of those one day!" - And that dream just might come true in China at the moment.

Just don't get an ugly BMW 7-series - pleeeaaaaase!

I love everything about this shot ...... it's a belter!

It's so real, wonderful processing and colours. It's like standing there in the middle of the road, on the lookout in all directions so I don't get knocked off my bike and squashed. I reckon that's exactly what the cyclist is doing ...... getting across the junction as fast as he can feeling 'protected' by the white car.

            Where were you standing, Danny?

I was trying to cross the road and watch the traffic with the camera over my face , 'PLEASE DO NOT REPEAT THIS EXCERCISE WITHOUT PARENTAL GUIDANCE'

I did something similar a few months ago. We were in town and I was trying out my new K10D for the first time with street shots.

I had just started out crossing the road, taking advantage of the traffic lights before the filter lights changed and the traffic started coming around the corner. I suddenly felt a yank from behind, which almost pulled me over, with an irate 'parental' voice ranting at me. It was my husband having a go at me and pulling me back onto the footpath by my jacket.

I was furious because he'd caused me to miss the shot and I'd been fully aware of what I was doing and what was happening around me.

A few passers-by enjoyed the 'marital spat' that followed though.

Fraid not - that's one class of car that Mercedes has BMW beat in my personal opinion

Actually, I feel very uninspired by the latest BMWs overall.

Danny, your picture reminded me of one I posted on the old forum back in 2004:

I took this in Tokyo back in 2001, with the then-new Canon D30

                        Danny,

That is a really interesting photo and a well framed one.

Though in my monitor it looks too contrasty and the colors look desaturated to a very noticeable extent.

Hi Danny - this is going on POTD today but I thought I'd mention that your pictures was taken using a Canon EOS-5D, not your R-D1
