  • Sitting high

This kid is sitting on a ledge about ten feet high on St Paul's Cathedral, London. I was pointing the camera up with my feet firmly on the ground.

    wow!
thats spectacular Ian! the uber wide angle definately accentuates the feeling of height, I reckon this would look awesome in high contrasty mono!

    Spectacular!

Thanks Ben - I did as you suggested. This looks darker than in Photoshop - I really must research the problem with colour and density shifts when posting to the web...

A superb and dramatic image, well spotted and photographed, I to also like the mono version.

Superb, I think the mono version makes it look even more dramatic.

It's not difficult (for a young lad like him, anyway!) to get up there by going across from near the entrance doors. This lad was completely nonchalant. I asked him if it was OK to take some pictures and he didn't say anything but looked away from the camera as if knowing that is what I needed him to do

Great stuff Ian and equally good in mono but I feel the boy stands out better in the colour. All good straight lines too and I also feel that it's good that he choose to look away from the camera, the little pup!

I also prefer the colour as it emphasizes the architecture whilst the young boy is still very prominent.

                  Excellent Ian.

                    Ian,

Fantastic photo, well captured, one of the most original and striking image seen recently.

                        Re: Sitting high

Smashing shot - I like the original as I think it shows the textures of the stone, the columns and the carvings as I want to see them and the blue sky lends a lightness. The more I look the more unnerving that appears - the little boy looks very small and insignificant against that imposing edifice, and yet he is the major player.
