Hi Ian,

Many thanks, the fur is black, very black and very shiney, so that might be why.

I have purchased a Sigma Flashgun, EF500 DG ST, I know absolutely nothing about using a flashgun, so am in the early 'trial and error' phase.

Its the first time I have ever used an external flash, and am experimenting in bouncing off walls ceiling etc.

Excellent value flash, Ben - good choice, though quite large and probably looks a bit odd on your EOS-350D

But the main point is that it can do the business!

Thats a relief I did a little research before buying. I ended up buying from Amazon, at 108quid I thought it was good value, but for 19.99, I thought the Sto-Fen soft box filter was a little steep! still, it seems to do a good job of softening the flash.
