Took this yesterday, when a seed gently floated in my window. I thought it made a nice photograph, I particularly like the shadow cast.

That's quite a magnification. I'm curious to know what the textured surface is that the seed is lying on.

Never noticed so much detail on them before.

The background colour is perfect (your carpet?). It's all very delicate and I agree the shadow is a great bonus.
        Excellent one this.

May I add my congratulations on a beautiful shot. Such things go unseen by many of use.

          Excellent.

            Hi Blithe,
An opportunity presented, a camera handy, end result? = a superb picture, love the color of the background, the shadow is the iceing on the cake, presentation first class.

Thank you for your comments. The blue background is merely a piece of card (though I can see it does look like carpet). The light and shade was created by the sun through the blind.

That's lucky, not even having to walk outside to find something to photograph.

I like the position of the seed and shadow on the card with the negative space on the left.

                  Nice one Blithe.
The shadow is a nice addition to the photo.
I like the blue background and I think this photo would make a nice wallpaper on the computer's desktop.

Now, that I remembered, it would be nice to have a section at DPNow, devoted to wallpapers.

                      Hi Blithe,

Fantastic macro shot. Background a lighting work very well, depth of field spot on.

                        Re: Dandelion seed

Thank you for your pleasant remarks. I used the 18-55mm kit lens. Have to admit this is a crop from a larger photograph, which is itself an appealing photograph to me, because it showed more of the light and shade horizontals from the blind. I find that I use this lens most of the time, the 55-200 mm lens is handy, but puts me too close for what I want most of the time. I don't understand a lot about lenses, they all seem to differ so much. I shall have to ask in the appropriate place.
