I know this picture is far from perfect, mainly because of the ambient conditions (overcast sky, very late in the day - only an hour from sunset) but I was struck by the exit sign in the foreground of the wide angle perspective.
You can just about make out the people under the lotus leaves the Buddha is sitting on.
This was taken at Ngong Ping, a popular temple that is accessible via spectacular cable car or 'Sky Rail'.

...in your face perhaps a bit because one expects to see sky & the contrast is like the effect a high key B&W, if there is such a thing, would have I presume!
Stephens addition of the sky really creates a subtlety to the pic! I'm not bagging you Ian, don't get me wrong, it's a great pic!
It certainly has taught me a couple of things to experiment with as far as effects go!
I was in two minds as to exactly what kind of sky to drop in - blue, flecked with clouds or a sunset? Stephen answered the question perfectly
