    Hi Lourensb

The photo is blurred but I think it is because you have not used a fast enough shutter speed and the fish wouldn't 'sit still' - he just kept on swimming.

I could not see this photo in your gallery, but I saw another fish pic and the shutter speed was only 1/13th of a second. If this pic had a similar shutter speed, I think that this may be your problem.

I am sure someone will tell you what a suitable shutter speed would be.

One difficulty can be that the faster your shutter speed is the more the aperature needs to be open and on the pic of yours that I saw I think the aperature was 2.8 so I would say that might be getting near maximum. You really would need more light and flash would reflect.

I had some like that in Sea World years ago.

        Try this link lourensb,

        http://www.geocities.com/slamman190/photos.html.

It says minimum shutter speed 1/60th. I personally would have thought that a bit slow , but I have no fish to experiment on.

I just googled for "Photographing swimming fish, shutter speed." There may be others, I just picked this one.

I am also posting a link that I have seen before but forgotten about. Stephen supplied it recently to a member's request (can't remember who off hand). It gives you the opportunity to try different shutter speeds with different aperatures values and see the result immediately.

        Good luck.
