Re: Perranporth Beach
A couple of lovely beach shots, you are lucky to have such great coastal scenery so close. It must be difficult to control exposure with so much shade and bright area in the shot. Did you sharpen these two, I see a halo round the arch in the second shot, sometimes an indication of oversharpening.
Tell me Mike, were you just testing the ability to link to your image shack space or haven't you sussed you could have done it with the ones in your gallery album

Morning Stephen,
you are right I did sharpen them possibly a little to much on the second. i did not see the halo but its there. My idea was to link to the pictures in my gallery but it just inserted the image from the gallery is that what happens when you copy the link over.

An attachment just embeds a click-on thumbnail.
Have a look here where Ian's explained things in more detail.
Hope that helps.
Super pictures. I especially like the second one.

It was a super day yesterday with some success and some not , I often go round Cornwall and wonder why we go abroad , Ill get the hang of it all sooner or later
I always feel your home area is much more familiar so it's easier to 'relate' to it and be more intimate ..... If you see what I mean. tourists are unlike to ever capture the same 'feeling' for an area as someone who lives there all year round,
As for getting the hang of it - we're all working through and learning as we go so don't worry about it and feel free to keep trying things out until you feel familiar with it.
Basically - when you want to display a picci in a forum - just upload it to the gallery, open the larger version within the gallery, copy the UBB code then paste that code into the forum and the pic will display as the ones you've posted above - that's all there is to it. It means your photo is stored on dpnow, in the galleries, and also linked from there .. so there's no need to use any personal web-space or 3rd party online album service for dpnow posts (such as photobucket or whatever).
I'm attaching a screen shot, mainly for the benefit of anyone else who's not too sure what I mean. The screenshot shows the UBB code that you need to copy/paste into a posting if you want the full image embedded in the thread.
Hope that helps.
