I hope you don't mind a "newbie" having a go. I would be interested in anyone's views on this image that I have posted in the Gallery (having previewed it I now realise that I don't like the frame! [[PS. I mean the frame around the whole thing, not the empty picture frame . . . this asking for critiques business gets complicated!]])

    Re: Minimal

Hi Kurt, you are very welcome here

Tone elimination using processes like lith development used to be very popular in the dark room days. It's not very trendy at the moment but I'm sure the fashion will return. What struck me about your picture (which I did see in your gallery yesterday) was that teh face has softer tones than the rest of the picture. I can't make up my mind if I like that or not. Personally, the frame doesn't bother me - it lends itself to some artistic interest in an abstract sort of way.

      Hi Kurt,
A Newbie haveing a go? Thats what it is all about, I like your image, it is my kind of image, whacky, experimental and different, I like your thinking and approach, yes the frame around the whole image needs some work, but that is a minor detail, experiment to see if you can come up with one you like. Nice one.

        Re: Minimal

Thanks Ian and Tinka for your comments. I did like using lith film in the darkroom many years ago, it is much easier digitally without so much waste!
