    Re:

Hi Stan = not bad at all. You have used a fast shutter speed to freeze the action and the water splashing very effectively. My only comment is that the dog doesn't look like it's 'happy' - there is something about its expression that doesn't match the carefree action. It may simply be that you froze the action at just the moment when the expression was like this but a fraction of a second either side might have been quite different. Technically this is a good picture but somehow it doesn't add up to one that appeals to me, though I can see the potential.

      Stan,
I have to say I do like the intense look on the dogs face, he looks like he's of to retrieve something.............to me its a look of concentration. i also like the way you have frozen his action, nice image

        Re:

I love it! Lovely shot of a 'Goldie' revelling in the joys of retrieving and generally splashing about and having fun.

The G-force of his muzzle kinda forcing the loose skin of his forehead forward and causing his ears to lollop pleases me and amuses me, along with his flying front paws. He's wonderful.

I think maybe you could make some slight improvements to the contrast with the help of a 'curves' adjustment layer. Just a small adjustment to add some subtle sparke to the water and help facial folds 'pop' just a little more.

        Beautiful capture though.

I too love it, the position of the front paws are perfect in my eye
freeze of the water-excellent. To hope for a happy face ploughing through the water at maybe 10-15mph I think is a bit much

The only thing I would personally do is to crop a little and maybe a bit more contrast.

          Its a great shot.
          cheers

I think it's an amazing shot, full of action & energy, but best of all it's natural! Good on you mate!

I agree with all that Ash has said. Re the crop, the dog should have just a touch more space in front of it than it has behind, so that it is running into the picture. Excellent captures.
