Again, black and white, which one do you prefer and why? Thankyou.

    Thankyou for your input,

Matt its a no brainer, the beauty of the flowers is in their colour, convert to B/W and you lose that. There is no separation and contrasting tone in the B/W. These sort of things don't lend themselves to B/W IMHO.

    What do you think anyway?

I agree with Stephen. You just can't get any impact from b/w flaura

I much prefer the original coloured version too. Can I also say that the shade of blue in this photograph is, in my opinion, much nearer the actual colour of the grape hyacinth. It's a happy photograph.

It is color tops every time with this subject, unless trying to produce an art form, or use the image to produce an hand tinted effect.

Colour for the vibrancy, but try the b&w with a colour filter through it, and you'll find different parts will become 'highlighted' with the different colour filter. You can get some amazing effects ....

My personal philosophy for what it's worth and in as few words as possible is that in Photography, you take what the shot gives you. In this case, it gives you colour and lots of it. So why not use it! There are lots and lots of applications where Black and White would be the more appropriate mode to use...This isn't one of them. Good Work.
