Bright and Cheery!

Something a little different to my normal style, comments more than welcome!
I wanted something bright and colourful, I may get this printed poster sized to go on my 5 year old neices wall, (thats who the photo is of)

(in the preview, it doesnt seem as crisp as the original though, and there seems to be some strange artifacts around the border and the text, like an echo or shadow.....)

Almost Popart I'd say Ben, very striking and I suspect would look good as you describe. I have found that if you click on the preview to get the larger size image then post the link to that, the artefacts seem to be lessened. I suspect they are simply compression artefacts

I imagine your niece will be thrilled with it! I know I would've been at that age.

Fabulous! Is it hand 'painted' or did you use a filter?

Its hand 'painted' (in photoshop of course) using layers, and the 'multiply' blending method.

Youd be amazed how easy it is Pol!
Use the 'threshold' tool in photoshop, that will give your outline, duplicate the layer, blend the layer using 'multiply' then you can paint away willy nilly. because you have blended using multiply, it will not paint over the black areas! give it a go, its fun!

Thanks. I'll probably have a go but don't hold yer breath waiting for any sensational examples. I really can't paint - can't draw either. Attempting any form of fine art does my head in.
