  • Action/Sports Paragliding

Opportunity arose out of the blue to capture people paragliding at St Bees; have posted three photos in my album and below for feed back (don't shout if I get this wrong, have been to busy on the Disabled Photographers' Society forum and all is different there)

Nikon D200 adjusted in Photoshop (shadows/highlights mainly as I wanted the purple of the chute) cropped to remove the side of a caravan, did not want to crop the bottom, as I felt that I would lose part of the person preparing to take off.

Not sure about this one, cropped it to show the paraglider and the jet trail but still wanted to keep the red sunset in the bottom left corner.

Again not sure about the cropping and the adjustments in Photoshop.

    Hi there,

I dont feel I can offer proper critique as the pictures are so large.

Any chance of re-uploading a maximum of 750 pixels on the longest edge?

    Cheers,
    Ben

Hi Brian, these look like fun, but I'm with Ben - they're a bit too big for most screens here. 750 or 800 pixels wide is about right for most people with 1024 or 1280 wide screens.

The first one looks good, you can clearly see all the 'stringy' bits of the parachute!

        Hi Bren & Ian,

Have resized the photos; hope this is better now. Been that long since I have posted I was more worried about Stephen informing me that I was linking to my gallery than the size of the photo

          That's much better, Brian

The first two are very interesting, but the third is too soft, really. There is some halo coming through - which is a price you often have to pay for using Shadows & Highlights in PS. I like the second one with that warm colour in the distance below, but the airplane trail does spoil it - easily clonable, though.
