  • Little Cuban Boy

Still on the same walk, I saw this little boy with his dad and he let me photograph him.

I should like a critique please, as now I look at it in my gallery, I think he looks out of proportion.

If you also think this, why is this and what could I have done about it? Is it the angle I was shooting?

    Re: Little Cuban Boy

    Hi autumn,
A great close up portrait and people shot, looks great to me, if you want a perfect portrait style image pose them in a studio, Nowt wrong with this image at all. One point to make is with several images, would it be better to group the images into a tryptic or some other way to post as one image, or even as seperate images in one post? just a query as they would be easier to compare and critique. This image is the best of the Bunch IMO, but the others do show how the other half live, and are good momento's of your visit.

Do you think it could be the uneven crop that is creating that illusion for you.
I also sense that it is leaning to the right a bit.

May just be the lens causing the proportion difference and or the angle it was shot from, I know some lenses can make your nose look huge or head wide if you open it up and get close.

These snaps were taken on a walk. I saw the little boy with his dad and look a pic of them and then got the little boy on his own. His sister appeared and mum wanted me to take her pic also.

The quality is very poor, but I am only showing you them because the little boy looks so much like his dad.

I also thought you would be able to see him uncropped.
