  • The obsession goes on

    Dear All,

My obsession goes on. This time I went for tulips with spikey petals which were about 4 days old.

    More can be found here

As always I welcome comments and critique. All the pictures were taken with natural light ad reflectors coupled with a whibley plamp and Black card.

    Best Regards

    Josh

I think I like this one the best of selection Josh, its a lovely shot and IMO works better than the single bloom versions. The black works well and the long slender stems give the whole thing some height.

I think your levels & WB need adjusting however. I used the white picker in Levels on the highlights and it lifted the whole shot bringing out the colours even better without blowing any of the whites. Also a bit of Smart Sharpen, Amount 35%, 0.6 radius on Lens Blur just makes it pop that little bit extra

Thanks Stephen. As a Raw shooter premium user I got a free licensed copy of Lighroom and the pictures taken yesterday were the first ones I had properly processed with that programme.

Quite like it, although more complex due to extra options over RSP.

I will go back and have a look.

        In fact here you go.

I am limited to unsharp mask in PS7. I also played with the WB in Lightroom using the picker tool.

Yep, just tried it in Lightroom, used the WB picker and altered the exposure a tad, worked a treat. Not tried the sharpening in LR yet.

Have to say I really like the prog, spent most of last night importing all my archive from an external drive, just to see how the cataloguing system works with Keywords etc. Seems to be OK but had some problems with older Canon CRW files from the 10D

Couldn't resist having a go at B&W conversion in Lightroom.
