I'm not entirely sure whether i've posted this or not before, I did a quick search and nothing came up, so i'd like to post it again.

This shot is the photograph that brought me into the world of photography. Before this photo I simply snapped away without any artistic or meaningful purpose behind it, and after the result this photo produced, I took photography more seriously.

Hi Matt,

I certainly havent seen this shot before.
I reckon this is one of your better ones, beautiful composition.

In my opinion, the only thing letting it down (and this is a very minor point) is the brightness accross the hills. This of course can be relatively easily rectified, especially with a little 'tweak' using the shadow highlight tool.

I really hope you dont take offence, but I had a little play, as it was such a nice image, and I felt there was a lot of potential here!

Please let me know if you would prefer not to have you pictures played with in future, and I shall refrain!

Asyou can see, there was a lot more detail that can be brought out. especially in the sky, and those hills.

The portrait format suits this one very well. A little adjustment in Curves to the mountain would give that area a little kick.
But a very nice landscape indeed.

@Ben: Thanks for those kind words This was taken on a standard film camera, so the quality is not what it would be with a digital/DSLR or a SLR camera. I don't mind anyone 'playing around' with my photos, especially if it results in helping me improve my photos in the future.

@Tom: Thanks, have you seen Ben's attached image? Is that what you mean? Please feel free to explain more if its not.

A nice image and a good re-work of the image, by normal film camers I take it you mean a compact? it shows that good images can and do come from seing an image and useing a compact.

Tinka, you guessed correctly It was taken with a cheap compact film camera.
