  • Just a Daisy

    Hi all,
Here is another "the last" image from my wifes boquet, I have removed a cluttered background and created a new one, plus minor tweeks and adjustments comments/critique welcome,
Just out of interest, After makeing what to me seemed good progress in our chosen interest "Digital photography" I seem to have come up against a "creative Brick wall" does/has this happened to anyone else? or is it me?
perhaps I should get back to basics for a while, and just take photographs of anything and everything.

Personally I think the background colour is wrong. It is far to bright and distracts from the subject. The daisy petals are lovely with a nice gentle sheen to them but they are not standing out very well because of that background.
Myself I would have experimented with very soft pink tints until I found one that complimented the daisy without distracting from it's beauty.

As for your brickwall problem...don't dwell on it. You can't force inspiration, it just comes naturally and without warning. This will happen while you are doing routine things and without any conscious thought....suddenly an idea will spring to mind and from that idea other tangents will be revealed to you.
I don't think you can ever learn it .... it just happens.

I like the beautiful pink daisy Tinka, but I have to agree with Pops, the green is just 'too green' ... perhaps a very soft green, a lighter shade of the natural daisy foliage? You have captured the individual petals with their gentle curves and the tight centre so well, it's worth getting the background just right. Come the summer I shall be doing what Diana does, and going out into the garden armed with coloured card to place behind the blooms.

I'm sure it happens to everyone. I like to follow photographic assignments from various places, or I look at the work and websites of others and set myself personal challenges.

Salons can also be inspirational imo.
